Beliefs

The Word of God

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.  2 Timothy 3:16;  2 Peter 1:20-21;  Mark 13:31;  John 8:31;  John 20:31;  Acts 20:32

The Trinity

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons known as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.  Genesis 1:1, 26;  John 1:1, 3;  Matthew 28:19;  John 4:24;  Romans 1:19-20; Ephesians 4:5-6

God The Father

We believe that God the Father, the first Person of the Trinity, orders and disposes all things according to His own purpose and grace. He is the Creator of all things. As the only absolute and omnipotent Ruler in the universe, He is sovereign in creation, providence, and redemption. His fatherhood involves both His designation within the Trinity and His relationship with mankind.  As Creator He is Father to all men, but He is spiritual Father only to believers.  He has decreed for His own glory all things that come to pass.  He continually upholds, directs, and governs all creatures and events. In His sovereignty He is neither the author nor approver of sin, nor does He abridge the accountability of moral, intelligent creatures. He has graciously chosen from eternity past those whom He would have as His own.  He saves from sin all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.  He adopts as His own all those who come to Him; and He becomes, upon adoption, Father to His own.  John1:12; Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:5; Hebrews 12:5-9; Luke 10:21-22;  Matthew 23:9;  John 3:16-17; 6:27;  Romans 1:7;  1 Timothy 1:1-2; 1 Timothy 2:5-6;  1 Peter 1:3;  Revelation 1:6

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, possesses all the divine excellencies, and in these He is coequal, consubstantial, and coeternal with the Father. We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ was virgin born; that He is God incarnate; and that the purpose of the incarnation was to reveal God, redeem men, and rule over God's kingdom.  We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through the shedding of His blood and sacrificial death on the cross and that His death was voluntary, vicarious, substitutionary, propitiatory, and redemptive.  Furthermore, we believe in our Lord’s bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, intercession for His people and personal visible return to earth. Matthew 1:18-25;  Luke 1:26-38;  John 1:1; 20:28;  Romans 8:46; 9:5;  2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:21-23;  John 20:30-31;  Matthew 20:28;  Ephesians 1:4;  Acts 1:11; Romans 5:6-8;  Romans 6:9-10;  Hebrews 9:28; 1 Tim. 3:16

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the supernatural and sovereign Agent in the regeneration of sinners who are dead in their trespasses and sins. The Holy Spirit of God regenerates all those whom God calls to salvation by giving them the spiritual life to believe and repent so that they may indeed be justified (declared righteous) by God.  The Holy Spirit also baptizes all who believe into the Body of Christ as well as indwells, sanctifies, instructs, seals, and empowers all true believers.  Every believer possesses the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit from the moment of salvation, and it is the duty of all those born of the Spirit to be filled with (controlled by) the Spirit. We believe that the newness of this era is marked by the unprecedented mission of the Spirit to glorify the crucified and risen Christ. This He does by giving the disciples of Jesus greater power to preach the gospel of the glory of Christ, by opening the hearts of hearers that they might see Christ and believe;  by revealing the beauty of Christ in His Word and transforming His people from glory to glory; and by manifesting His power and sovereignty in dispensing spiritual gifts as He wills for the building up of the body of Christ.  John 14:16-17, 26;  John 16:9-14;  Romans 8:9;  1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; Galatians 5:22-26

Man

We believe that man was created by God in His own image; that he sinned and thereby incurred physical, spiritual and eternal death, which is separation from God, that as a consequence, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are sinners by choice and therefore under condemnation.  Genesis 1:26-27;  Genesis 2:16-17; 3:6;  Romans 3:10-12; 3:23;  Ephesians 2:1-3; Romans 1:18-21;  Revelation 20:12-14

The Gospel

We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.  It proclaims how one may receive the righteousness of Christ alone by grace alone through faith alone and so be justified in God's sight. We believe that salvation is wholly of God by grace on the basis of the redemption of Jesus Christ, the merit of His shed blood, and not on the basis of human merit or works. Justification is an act of God's sovereign grace in which He pardons all the believer’s sins and declares him, once and for all, to be righteous in His sight.  We believe God sovereignly declares a sinner righteous by imputing the righteousness of Christ to the sinner's account and forgiving his sins when he truly repents and believes.  Romans 1:16;  Romans 5:17-19;  Hebrews 10:14;  Romans 3:24-25;  Galatians 2:16; Romans 4:4-8;  Philippians 3:9

The Church

We believe in the local church, consisting of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and united for worship of God, fellowship with the saints, edification, and the work of the ministry.  Ephesians 2:19-22;  Acts 1:8;  Ephesians 5:19-21;  Acts 2:42;  Hebrews 10:23-25

The Ordinances

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church, baptism and the Lord's Supper.  We believe that baptism is the immersion of the believer into water into the name of the triune God.  We believe that the Lord's Supper was instituted by Christ for the commemoration of His death.  We believe that these two ordinances should be regularly observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Matthew 28:18-20;  Romans 6:3-5;  1 Cor. 11:23-26.

The Future

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ.  We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal joy of the righteous and the endless suffering of the wicked.  Matthew 16:27;  Mark 14:62;  John 14:3;  Acts 1:11;  Philippians 3:20; 1 Thessalonians 4:15;  2 Timothy 4:1;  Titus 2:13;  1 Corinthians 4:5; 15;
2 Thess. 1:7-10;

Missions
We believe that all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are responsible to be involved in fulfilling the Great Commission to make disciples of all people groups as either goers or senders.  We believe in the intentional sending forth and going of pioneer church planters who go to hard places to hard people for the sake of The Name and Fame of Jesus Christ.  We believe that missions exists because worship doesn’t and that all believers who have a passion to see Christ receive the reward of His sufferings and God worshipped by people from all people groups will be involved in missions.  Furthermore, we endorse suffering for the sake of the Gospel believing that the pursuit of our comfort, convenience, safety, security, and self-preservation is not fitting for those who worship a King Who gave Himself to be crucified!   Genesis 12:3c; Psalm 67; Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:47; Acts 1:8; Romans 1:5; 15:8-23; 16:25-26; 2 Cor. 4; Hebrews 13:13-14; Rev. 5:9; 7:9.
